Join us for the 2011 St Joan of Arc Christmas
Musical, Back to the Manger.
Friday December 2 at 7:30pm and Saturday December 3 at 10:30am in the St Joan of
Arc gym.
Show Synopsis
The setting of “Back to the Manger” is
a church community caroling outreach. In a variety of time periods (and some
very unique musical styles) the children learn that the greatest commandment is
to love God with all our hearts, souls and minds. They build a time machine and
it malfunctions, causing the children to be tossed around in time from the
1990’s to the 1940’s and eventually all the way back to the birth of Christ.
Kids will have fun embracing the different musical styles and costumes of these
decades, while traveling back to the reason we celebrate Christmas-a holy child
born in a manger.
What do the kids say about being in the
show?
“I looked forward to it every day–I
thought about it every recess about two times
and maybe a little bit in math class.”
“At camp and Sunday school it’s the same people year after year and in the show
I meet different people.”
What do the parents say about the show
“St. Joan of Arc is able to take it’s
passion for spirit--filled music and give the youngest parishioner an experience
unlike any in a classroom–kids learning to express their faith on a stage,
guided by professional artists. In the end, the kids, volunteers and community
should be so proud!”
“Creates a connection with other SJA kids that can’t be gained by Sunday school
alone.”
